Medieval History

National Archives

The education section of the British National Archives has a nice collection of classroom resources. There are lessons with primary sources from the archives and discussion questions, sets of lessons around various themes, and a few online games. You can search the collection by age level or historical time period.

History Cat

This site comes from a history teacher in Michigan, and has a free online world history textbook. It's visually interesting, and appealing to jr. high and high school level students. The site seems to be under development, and some links aren't working as of this writing. Definitely worth keeping an eye on this improving resource!

Vikings Unit

A study unit on Vikings using lapbook and/or notebook resources.  Includes links to websites, books, videos, crafts and games. Can be done with free curriculum materials and resources.

$5.00

Pandia Press

This company produces the REAL Science Odyssey and History Odyssey materials. They offer a secular, classical approach to science and history study for elementary and junior high level students.

Trisms

A curriculum for jr. high/high school level that covers writing, literature, geography and history.  The first goal stated in their description is "to teach our children HOW to think, not just WHAT to think."  Encourages independent research and critical thinking.  It is fairly expensive, though.
