Pre-Algebra

Mathigon

An interactive math learning tool for jr. high and high school levels. This free resource guides students in discovering and applying mathmatical concepts through interactive, online content. There is also a story element to the presentation that makes it very engaging. There doesn't appear to be much in the way of practice exercises, so you may want to suppliment if that's important to you. But it's a great way to get students engaged in math learning.

Math Goodies

This site has quite a few free math learning resources. There are interactive lessons, printable worksheets and a worksheet generator, a few simple flash-based games, some webquests on fun math topics, and more. It's a no-frills website, that's not terribly interesting visually, but there are plenty of useful tools to explore.

A+ Interactive Math

A very affordable online math curriculum. Interactive lessons with online practice and tests, plus printable worksheets, and progress tracking. There are placement tests available, and you can purchase a single year or access to the entire program with the ability to change individual student placement at any time. Looks like a very flexible and comprehensive program.

Common Core Sheets

Printable worksheets aligned to common core standards. The content is mostly math, but there are also a few social studies, science, and language arts sheets. Find what you need by grade level or concept, and choose premade sheets or generate new ones. Each sheet comes with an answer key and most can be used online or printed.

YouCubed

This is a wonderful website from Stanford Math Education Professor Jo Boaler. The site has many inspiring articles and videos about a new approach to math teaching and learning. There is a free online course to help students think differently about math. She is also in the process of writing a K-8 math curriculum that follows her revolutionary approach. You can try out many of the tasks and activities on the website. The curriculum looks great, but the best thing about this resource is the potential for both students and parents/teachers to develop a great mindset about math.

Knowre

Online Algebra and Geometry program with interactive lessons, and a "walk me through" feature that helps students learn problem solving with step-by-step feedback. Purchase through Homeschool Buyers Co-op at a very reasonable price.

Learn Math Fast

This math system covers grades 1 through 12 and is focused on helping students develop good "mental math" habits. It looks like the sort of program that will work very well for some students, but not others. It is reasonably priced, and there are some sample pages available for you to try.

Illuminations
